John 15:5

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.

Who can I practice Community with?

Key Verse | Acts 2:42

And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.

Acts 2:42-47

The Believers Form a Community

42All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lords Supper*), and to prayer.

43A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lords Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity*47all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Footnotes

Practice Community

In this week’s passage, the apostles and believers spent time caring for one another, eating together, and worshiping God together. This week, invite some of your friends over for a playdate. While together, consider participating in some of the activities below:

  1. Read Acts 2:42-47 together and talk about what your favorite thing to do is when with each other.
  2. Play a game together.
  3. Have a snack together.
  4. Spend time praying for one another.

Prayer Prompts

Use the prayer prompts to spend time praying with your friends:

  1. Ask God to deepen your friendships with other believers.
  2. Ask God to reveal to you any way you can begin giving to other people.
  3. Pray for your family to be loving and kind to each other and other people.
