Now Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark. But Paul thought best not to take with them one who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia and had not gone with them to the work.
Paul and Barnabas Separate
36After some time Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s go back and visit each city where we previously preached the word of the Lord, to see how the new believers are doing.” 37Barnabas agreed and wanted to take along John Mark. 38But Paul disagreed strongly, since John Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not continued with them in their work. 39Their disagreement was so sharp that they separated. Barnabas took John Mark with him and sailed for Cyprus. 40Paul chose Silas, and as he left, the believers entrusted him to the Lord’s gracious care. 41Then he traveled throughout Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches there.

Your friend, though, says “I want them to go to the Moon!” You get really frustrated because you really wanted the game to be about going to Mars, so you try to convince your friend to play the way you want but instead end up arguing with your friend. What should you do next? How do you and your friend move on from there?
Today’s story is similar. Two friends, Paul and Barnabas, who have been traveling and telling others about Jesus together, get into an argument. But why were they arguing? How did they resolve it? Let’s look at today’s passage to find out.
