And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
The Believers Form a Community
42All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lords Supper*), and to prayer.
43A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lords Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity*47all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
Today, there are two activity options for today that your family is able to participate in.
In the first activity, you will get to search for many of the words that describe the actions and commitments of the apostles in Acts 2:42-47. Use the Acts 2:42-47 Word Search to review the things the apostles devoted themselves to and the actions they did. Print it out and see if you can find all the words using the word bank as a guide!
In the second activity, practice praising God like the believers did in Acts 2:47 by playing Freeze Dance to worship music! Kingdom Kids by Shane and Shane has awesome song options for older kids. Yancy has excellent pre-school options!
Play the worship music, see how many hand motions from Watermark Kids you remember, and praise the Lord in your own way! Pause the music periodically, but be sure to freeze, or you’ll be out!
