And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
31After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Who wants to be bold? Strong and very courageous? If your hand is not already up, you got to raise it! So, lets continue to scuba dive into God’s Word through an activity! You see Peter and John before the Jewish leaders were so bold when confronted about the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Though others didn’t like their message, and even tried to make them stop talking, Peter and John were bold for Jesus!
For this activity you will want to grab some paper or use this printable activity sheet and some art tools, because we will be drawing our very own superhero! Superheroes are strong, courageous, bold, and even laugh in the face of danger. HA! HA! HA! HA!
Start by drawing out your own superhero who is unique and personalized to you! While deciding what your hero will look like, think about what characteristics your hero will have that make them bold like Peter and John. What will make them unique? What power are they filled with? Remember heroes protect the city and keep you out of danger. So, you will want to create a hero who is capable of being bold and firm!
Challenge for Older Kids: Being bold sometimes does not come easy. But God’s grace and love for us has given us Jesus Christ to be our Lord and Savior! When we believe, we receive the Holy Spirit, who gives us boldness when we ask!
Take some time to read the following verses to see other people who had faith in God and helped them be bold!
In a journal, write down how each character was bold and reflect on what bold for Jesus would look like for you.
