Central Truth
Our Lord is the supplier of life. He gives us life and all the greatness and sadness that comes along with it. Both aspects of this life combine to make us lean on Him and trust in Him as the One we should always praise!
May the Lord's name be praised now and forevermore!
(Psalm 113:2)
1
Praise the LORD!
Praise, O servants of the LORD,
praise the name of the LORD!
2
Blessed be the name of the LORD
from this time forth and forevermore!
3
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
the name of the LORD is to be praised!
4
The LORD is high above all nations,
and his glory above the heavens!
5
Who is like the LORD our God,
who is seated on high,
6
who looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
7
He raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8
to make them sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9
He gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
Praise the LORD!
Have you ever been to Yellowstone National Park? If not, go. It's my favorite place on earth--besides home. I have been there 11 times on research trips with my father (science guy, really bright). I have seen parts of the park that most people haven't and still stand amazed.
I went again this past summer with my whole family for my dad's 70th birthday, and it was very different. Different in the sense that I was there looking around at my surroundings through the eyes of a true "believer." A "Believer-in-God Believer." He revealed things to me on this trip that were not very evident during my past trips. For example, the color of the rising sun was a different shade of orange every day. The burned-out pine trees from the fires of the late 80's were growing back beyond belief. There was snow on the mountains but green grass on the ground. The rivers were cold, the air was brisk, and the wildlife was just something to smile about. My point is this:
The greatness of God is all around you in plain view. JUST PRAISE HIM!
Praise Him for the beauty you can see. Praise Him for the things you can hear. Praise Him for the things you can feel. Praise Him for the food you can eat. Praise Him for the water you can drink. Praise Him for the life that you have. And praise Him for His Son. Praise Him for the gift of Eternal Life. Praise the Lord--Our Lord--just Praise Him.
1. I have just one question. Are you praising Him?
