Central Truth

God has called us to be His hands, feet, and voice to a world that desperately needs to hear His message of hope and love. Let's stop thinking about it and start sharing it!

Romans 10:14–15

14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? 1 10:14 Or him whom they have never heard And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”

Footnotes

[1] 10:14 Or him whom they have never heard

Dive Deeper | Romans 10:14–15

I love hearing and sharing good news! I got the job! It's a boy! Luke scored a touchdown! It's easy for me to share good news to everyone I know. I call, text, post on Facebook and Instagram, and sometimes even shout it out loud!--especially if my boy scored a touchdown!

The truth is, I want to share these things because the joy it brings me seems to overflow out of me, and I can't help but share it with those around me!  So why is it harder for me to share the best news story ever told? God has given us His news of love, grace, and forgiveness through His Word; and He wants us to share it.

Mark 16:15 commands us, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation."

What is this good news? It's Jesus, God in the flesh, mending broken hearts, forgiving sinners like you and me, restoring, renewing, and redeeming lives! (See John 3:16.) Jesus is asking us to let the joy His news has brought into our own lives overflow and touch the lives of those around us. He has placed each of us in a unique spot, with lost and hurting people all around who desperately need us to be the feet of those who bring good news!

So how do we do that? Does it ever feel awkward to begin discussing your faith with others? It often does with me! Here are some easy conversation starters that I have tried and that really work!

"Do you have a faith?" (Thanking JP for that one!)

"What do you believe about the Bible?"

"What do you think will happen when you die?"

"What do you think about God?"

And if you get nervous starting these conversations, remember that we are never alone when we are obedient to share God's message. (See Mark 16:19-20.) God promises to be right there with us, guiding our words, leading the conversation. What a privilege and honor we get in being God’s messengers. He is calling us to be His hands and feet. Let's share the love!

This month's memory verse

Future Glory

18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

– Romans 8:18

Discussion Questions

1. Think of a couple of people who come to your mind that you can have a conversation with this week about their faith. Write their names on a piece of paper.

2. When are you meeting with them? Commit to praying for those people and set up a time in your calendar that you can meet with them.

3. What are your fears in sharing the good news with others? What are some ways you can overcome those fears?
